Charts (5 Comments)

Filed under: HP,KJ,TG — The Spider Herself @ 5:23 pm

We tend to weigh and measure the kids a lot. Why? They keep growing! And growing, and growing….

At the age of two, most children slow down in the growth department- not our crew. So I like to keep track of it all- I’m like that. Give me buttons to push and charts to keep and I am a happy camper.

So… because I know you all are dying of curiosity, here are the most current stats:

The Boy- 56 1/4″  (4′ 8 1/4″), 71 pounds. This puts him in over the 97th percentile in height. He is in the 90th percentile in weight.

Pixie- 46″ (3′ 10″) and 43 pounds. She is on the 90th percentile line for height and 50th for weight. And you wonder why I have troubles finding clothes that fit her!

Sunshine- 43″ (3′ 7″) and 41.4 pounds. She is in the 95th in height and 87th for weight.

I went back to the height predictor at WebMD to see if it said anything new. Since Sunshine was now 4, I wondered if it would change anything.

It assures me that The Boy will still be 6’5″.

Pixie will still be the shrimp of the children at 5’9″.

Sunshine is heading for 5’10”.

I will be the leaning post for all of them, I’m afraid.

  1. I am still in awe at the 4’8 1/4″! That is tall for his age. No wonder I mistook him for older when we first met. I think it is a safe bet that you will have tall children! I am off to check out the web md you linked to. I am curious how tall my children will be!

  2. It said two of mine will be 5′ 8″ tall. Not as tall as I thought, but that is a good height IMO. The third is not home for me to measure and I didn’t figure it would work on the infant. That was fun to see though. Good post!

  3. At first it will just figure the median height between the parents- boys will be closer to the father and the girls will be closer to the mother. After about the age of 4 it seems to start calculating based on what they actually measure. It said Sunshine was also going to be 5’9″ until she turned 4.
Yes, 5’8″ is a good height! Taller than average, but then so are you.
    😉

  4. Whoa. With a 5’8″ mom and a 5″10″ dad, my kid (at four months!) is predicted to be 6’0″.

Hm. I hate to betray my skepticism, but.

Our brother is 6’2″ or something like that, and we have outrageously tall people in the family, like my mom’s brother who’s 6’8″. But 6’0″ for my boy seems like a genetic stretch, doesn’t it?

  5. I tried putting in your information without knowing how much the Little Man weighs etc. (so I guessed) and it came up with 6′ too. I took out all the child info and it said the same thing so I am thinking it’s figuring it based solely on the parent’s info. It said a girl of yours would be 5’6″! I find that hard to believe too based on the height of the females in your family.

Bookmark it and come back in four years- like I said earlier- at that point it starts taking more of the child’s actual stats into consideration.

My brothers are taller than my dad and The Col. was taller than his dad so it’s possible!

I wish I knew some of our childhood information so I could enter how tall we were at, say, age 6 and then see if it comes out right. But I don’t have any of the information. 🙁
